Sustainability

Sustainable and commercially sound

Sustainability matters to Brandtown. We take responsibility for the products, solutions and ways of working we recommend and deliver. Our work is long term, commercially grounded and part of both our customers’ business and our role as a supplier.

Close relationships
We visit new and existing suppliers and agree shared plans.
Circularity
We strive for circularity in products, materials and flows.
Green Deal
Our work is aligned with the EU’s ambitions and upcoming regulations.
DPP
Digital Product Passports give consumers more insight into product, materials and finishing.
Our principle

Sustainable and commercially sound. Otherwise not.

When we recommend products and solutions, we follow a simple principle. Both requirements must be met.

Sustainable Not commercially viable
Not recommended A product that is sustainable but not commercially viable for the customer is not something we recommend.
Profitable Not sustainable
Not recommended A product that is profitable but not sustainable is not something we recommend.
Sustainable Commercially viable
Recommended Only products and solutions that are both sustainable and commercially viable are recommended.
Suppliers and materials

Close relationships make more sustainable products

We visit new and existing suppliers, build personal relationships and agree a shared plan to make our products as sustainable as possible. We strive for circularity in everything we do.

  • Visit new and existing suppliers on site
  • Shared plans for more sustainable products
  • Badges, transfers, garments, scarves and other knitted and woven products made in the EU
  • Reuse the boxes and other materials the garments arrive in wherever possible
  • Choose freight with environmental impact in mind

EU Green Deal and DPP

We welcome new requirements

Our sustainability work is aligned with the EU’s ambitions under the Green Deal and upcoming regulations for Digital Product Passports (DPP). This means we work for greater transparency, traceability and accurate information about products, materials and finishing processes.

With structured ways of working, documentation and our own digital systems, we handle sustainability systematically and responsibly, both internally and together with customers and suppliers.

Our responsibility

When we finish garments, we may count as the manufacturer

We add materials and process existing garments. That changes the composition and function of the product. Under the regulations we may therefore count as the manufacturer. That means responsibility for accurate information, documentation and traceability for the finished product. We take that responsibility.

DPP in practice

How we help you prepare for DPP

Our work with product data aims to make it reasonable for you to place your products on the market. Without verifiable data, that risks becoming costly. We see transparency as a competitive advantage for you and as a way to remove obstacles.

01 Ready to sell We collect and structure the data required, so your products can be placed on the market without unnecessary obstacles.
02 Verifiable claims When you talk about the sustainability of your garments, you should be able to back it up. We deliver data that makes those claims verifiable.
03 Lower costs Missing data can be expensive. Documented recyclability, chemical status and recycled content can also lead to lower producer fees.
04 Clear responsibility We take responsibility for the information linked to our finishing. Customer-supplied badges are handled as a separate category.
05 Traceable in our system Batch traceability, supplier data, PFAS and REACH status and versioned compliance documents are gathered in our own system.
06 Governance and pilots An internal DPP handbook, a steering group and an annual internal audit with spot checks. We are testing product passports in pilot projects with Swedish top-flight clubs.
Our position

DPP is more than compliance.
It is a strategic shift for business.

Product data, transparency and traceability will gradually become as important in business relationships as quality, price and delivery capability are today.
